The fashion influencers you should be following

The latest brand to use i.LEVEL is Club L, who are one of the UK’s fastest growing trend-setting womenswear brands. They design their apparel in-house and often deliver on-trend styles far before anyone else.

Which has led us to ask the question – how do fashion brands select the trends that will be in vogue next year and even the year after? Forecasting trends companies like WGSN and newer, lower cost entrants like All Eyes play a large part, but there are other ways too.

Step forward fashion influencers. Blogs and social media platforms are a pool of inspiration with occasionwear wardrobes, new season launches and outfit of the days (or #OOTD as it’s more commonly known).

But with thousands of influencers on Instagram, who are the best to follow? We’ve scouted out the best of the bunch and here are our top four for 2019:

The Fashion Lift (83.3k followers) – Starting her blogging career from the school gates when other mums asked her for fashion advice, Fran Bacon champions high street brands. The girl next door who styles everything from dungarees to evening dresses can more often than not be found posting birds eye selfies (or #thefranshot) of her feminine outfit choices.

The Frugality (231k followers) – Whilst we all like to dream, it can be disheartening to stare at clothes that break the bank. That’s why Alex Stedman’s posts cherry pick the gems of the high street and package them to appear as ‘high fashion’. Affordable yet effortlessly chic, she has become a style icon over Instagram.

Katherine Ormerod (52.2k followers) – Lavish and luxurious, there is a reason that journalists make such successful influencers as they are able to tell a story in one single shot. A former Grazia Fashion Editor, Katherine mixes new niche brands with everyday staples and always seems to deliver a winning look each time.

Men with Class (4.9m followers) – Let’s not forget men, and this one does what it says on the tin. Many men can dress well but struggle when it comes to customising and accessorising a suit. Step forward Men with Class who offer streams of images in men’s tailoring from work wear to the weekend away.

Getting on-trend is all about good design combined with an innate feel for what’s next in fashion. The above influencers provide a good mix of current fashion trends as well as what to look out for in the immediate future.
